WASHINGTON, Jan. 18, 2023 /Christian
Newswire/ -- 'The Horse and His Boy' opens at the Museum of the Bible's
World Stage Theater this Friday, January 20. This unique production, from the
Logos Theatre, in association with the C.S. Lewis Company Limited, will feature
epic puppetry, beautiful sets and costumes, and an inspiring story for all ages.
"Opening week is finally here," said director Nicole Stratton. "Our cast has
been working hard to make C.S. Lewis fans proud, and we are so excited to
finally bring these characters to life at the World Stage Theater!"
'The
Horse and His Boy' is C.S. Lewis's fifth book in the Chronicles of Narnia. The
story takes place while the Pevensies — Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy — were
kings and queens of Narnia and follows Shasta, a Narnian boy raised as the son
of a fisherman in Calormen. After learning that his adoptive father will sell
him into slavery to a wealthy Taarkaan, he confers with the Taarkaan's talking
horse captured from Narnia. The two decide to escape their cruel master and run
away to the freedom that Narnia brings.
'The Horse and His Boy' will run more than 40 performances from January 20
through March 3. Four American Sign Language shows will take place on January
25, January 26, February 15 and February 16. Tickets to C.S. Lewis's 'The Horse
and His Boy' are available now at

Verse Challenge is a collective alliance of the 11 leading Bible translation
agencies that are working together to see that every language has a Bible by the
year 2033. They are challenging audience members to partake in their 12 Verse
Challenge to sponsor a verse of the Bible being translated each month this year.
"We are so excited to be sponsoring 'The Horse and His Boy' at the Museum of the
Bible," said Blake Silverstrom, Vice President of illumiNations Twelve Verse
Challenge. "It's our mission to bring the Bible to every language and every
people and we believe C.S. Lewis's work is the perfect opportunity to present
our challenge. The Narnia books presented the Bible to us metaphorically. Now,
audiences will have the opportunity to help present the Bible to people and
nations all around the world."
This stage production of C.S. Lewis's famous novel will delight audience members
as Shasta and his talking horse, Bree, adventure to Narnia to save it from
certain destruction and be free at last. They soon learn, however, that such a
mission could only succeed with help from Aslan, the great lion himself!
