WASHINGTON, June 26, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court's 5-4 vote to uphold President Trump's so-called travel ban:

    The Supreme Court's decision today is a victory for national security, the U.S. Constitution, the rule of law, and the safety of U.S. citizens and other innocents.

    The anti-Trump judiciary also suffered a major defeat in its political attacks on President Trump.

Chief Justice Roberts wrote in today's majority opinion: "By its plain language [the law] grants the President broad discretion to suspend the entry of aliens into the United States. The President lawfully exercised that discretion based on his findings—following a worldwide, multi-agency review—that entry of the covered aliens would be detrimental to the national interest."
