INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, October 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Jim Clark, athlete, entrepreneur, and Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Indianapolis based retirement planning firm Jim Clark and Associates will swim the English Channel to raise money for disadvantaged children. Vincent J. de la Vega, President and C.E.O. of the Miami based international translating firm Precision Translating Services, Inc., has agreed to serve as the official translator for the expedition.

Clark regarding de la Vega: "Vincent de la Vega is a professional of exceptional expertise and experience, and a gentleman of the first order. We're fortunate and proud to have him join us on this expedition."

Commenting on the event Mr. de la Vega said: "If there is anyone who can accomplish this enormous task of swimming the English Channel it is Mr. Jim Clark. Jim has proven himself as a gentleman who is true to his word."

The Channel swim will be the focal point of a three-part event sponsored by Jim Clark and Associates.

Sometime between September 24, 2009, and October 1, 2009, Jim Clark will swim the English Channel to raise money for disadvantaged children. The purpose of the swim will be to raise awareness of the fact that every five seconds a disadvantaged child dies of malnutrition.

In October, 2008, Jim Clark and Associates will launch the Swimming for the Children Scholarship SM. High school and college students nationwide will have an opportunity to raise money for disadvantaged children. The purpose of the scholarship is to introduce young people to philanthropic endeavors, and to give them an opportunity to earn a scholarship. The project will be a real time demonstration of a very basic fundamental, that is, the surest way to get what you need is to help someone else get what he needs.

In December, 2009, Jim Clark and Associates will sponsor the Swimming for the Children International Telethon SM. The purpose of the telethon will be to raise $30,000,000.00 for disadvantaged children.
