How Souls are Coming Back to God Through
Catholic Fasting
NEWS PROVIDED BY
The Catholic Fasting Coach
Sept. 7, 2023
UNION, Mich., Sept. 7, 2023 /Christian
Newswire/ -- Catholic experts Jay Richards, author of "Eat, Fast, Feast,"
Sr. Dede Byrne, and others will be speaking at the Hungry for God Virtual Dinner
Party on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The event will begin at 5:00pm Eastern,
and it's free to attend. The purpose of the live Zoom event is to inspire and
help Catholic women pick up the sword of spiritual fasting, to invite God into
their weight struggles that are keeping them stuck. And, to offer their
discomfort in prayer and fasting for their loved ones outside the Church. The
event takes place within St. Michael's Lent.
For the appetizer course, keynote guest speaker, Jay Richards will discuss what
food is on our plates and how the ancient tradition of weekly fasting is
life-changing and nourishing to both body and soul. The life-changing, riveting
and fun conversations will continue with the salad course. Catholic coaches Erin
Ingold, CEO of Metanoia Catholic, and Lisa Canning, The Possibility Mom, will
highlight how the reason cycle, as taught by St. Thomas Aquinas, leads to
possibility and is imperative to managing our thoughts around what food and
drinks we place on the table.
During the main course, Sr. Dede Byrne will explain how making room for The
Eucharist - the One True Food - we are really hungry for, is the main meal of
life.
What would a dinner party be without dessert? In this segment, everyday Catholic
women will share how the regimen of fasting not only improved their bodies but
more importantly, their souls. They will also share the miracles they've
witnessed including husbands converting, healed family relationships, and so
many more.
"We think we're hungry for the things of this world, but we're actually hungry
for God. That means so much when you apply it to spiritual fasting. Spiritual
fasting can be a type of suffering whose yoke is easy and burden is light. It
flips dieting on its head because our real hunger is for God." – Beth Bubik, CEO
of The Catholic Fasting Coach and host of the dinner party
"When my mom was alone and deteriorating in the nursing home during the
lockdowns there was really nothing else I could do. I was desperate, so I began
spiritual fasting. I was thinking, 'Okay, this is it, I need to get in there to
help her, I will spiritually fast for this purpose,' and that's when I started
to delay sugar, flour, and alcohol to Sunday, desperate for the help of God. And
He quickly answered, I got in." – Beth Bubik
Spiritual fasting and being hungry for God is the answer to all our struggles.
We just need to show people how to do it.
