COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 22, 2023 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Word For The World (TWFTW) is delighted to announce Chris R. de Wet, Ph.D., as the new CEO of TWFTW USA. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will help TWFTW continue to strengthen and grow in God's call on our organization. Chris believes that everything in all sectors of society falls or rises on leadership. He has committed most of his career to provide holistic development to influential leaders, helping them increase their effectiveness to transform every segment of society.

Chris served extensively in the work of the Kingdom of God. He was the Founder and Global CEO of EMIT USA (formally AFMIN), a leadership training organization focused on Africa.

Other Achievements: Chairman of The Institute of Church Growth conference with Drs. Yonggi Cho (S. Korea) & Robert Schuller (USA) in Cape Town; Chairman of the Association of International Trainers, USA; Chairman of the Board for TWFTW USA; Member of TWFTW's International Board; Chairman and International Coordinator of the church-planting track at the Global Conference on World Evangelism (GCOWE 97); authored and co-authored numerous published books, articles, and training manuals that were published in Africa, Europe, and the USA. He has conducted seminars, workshops, and training for numerous organizations and churches in Africa, the USA, Europe, and Asia.

As a seasoned Missiologist, Chris's education includes an M.A. at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, USA, and a Ph.D. at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Chris will contribute significantly to "The 2050 Vision" of TWFTW, that is, being instrumental in completing first-time translations of the entire Bible in 1,000 languages by 2050. At the exponential rate TWFTW is executing this vision, he fully believes this is possible. For example, in 2022, 658 full-time Bible translators (all indigenous) representing 206 people groups (comprising of 54 million people) in Africa, Asia, and Europe were translating (or completed translating) the Bible into their languages.

In his free time, Chris loves to spend time outdoors mountain biking, fly-fishing, and skiing in Colorado.

Since 1981, The Word For The World has been working towards equipping language groups for mother-tongue translation and literacy development in partnership with like-minded organizations. Our prayer is that every person will know that God loves them and speaks their language! The vision of The Word For The World is the glory of God through transformed lives by the power of his Word in everyone's heart language.
